I thought I was paranoid, but damn. Ellie makes me look naive and content.
I was skeptical of this book until about 42%. Then I was like "OMG OMG OMG! Can't stop reading!" And then the ending happened and I was more like "Oh hell, really? That sucked."
So this book gets 3 stars because I really have no clue how I feel about it. I loved it and I hated it. Camden was one screwed up kid, which I relate to since I was a freak in high school too. Ellie seemed to wallow in her own self-pity more than anyone should, and it really messed her up. You can only make excuses for your own sorry behavior for so long before you have to face up to being a horrible person.
The story wasn't my usual taste, but I was held pretty well. Until the ending, when I just shook my head and sighed. I hate endings that just leave you hanging so that you'll run out and buy the next one. I don't feel like anything was tied up with this. It might take me a few days to come to a real decision on whether I enjoyed this or not.
