I don't understand why the robots let some people escape as a release quota at the beginning. If they're trying to eliminate humans, what was the point? Because now they're just flying around destroying the settlements. And why do they take humans prisoner? They don't need us. They're self-sustaining. It says they make us just bust up rock until we die, or so the rumors go. Why? Robots aren't emotional beings, so there is no reason to torture us. They would just kill us and be done. None of this makes any sense, and it never does in other stories either. They want to wipe us out because we are inferior, so there is absolutely no logical reason to keep ANY humans alive anywhere.
