Hopeless - Colleen Hoover

Short review here.

This book dealt with some heavy issues, which I respect. But it managed all this badly. I didn't like anyone in this book except Karen. Holder was a controlling, angry ball of deceit. Sky was just boring. There didn't seem to be anything that made her different or interesting. What teenager doesn't know what "lol" mean?

Now, the slut shaming. Wow. Sooooo much slut shaming.

The way people react to situations. Totally unrealistic. Holder knows who Sky really is, but he doesn't tell her or anything? He just keeps hiding everything? None of that was right.

Or how about where Holder's mother is all the times he's climbing in Sky's window in the middle of the night? Or how Sky gets guys in and out her window, talking and making noise, and mom doesn't hear? What?

No, this book was a bundle of wrong. And that's sad because not enough YA novels deal with kidnapping and rape.
